1 short visit

I love it when people are driving through Philly and want to stop for a cheesesteak....
Oh wait! That has only happened once!

But I do love seeing old friends.

kisses.

Brag Monday

Warning: I might be bragging in this post. Feel free to send me virtual punches.

Remember that one time my dream came true and our engagement photos were featured on The Bride's Cafe

Well... my dream came true AGAIN. And I owe it to our wedding photographer.
Thanks Amanda, you rock.

If you are just dying to see more pictures (the same ones) of the wedding (i'm sure you aren't)

kisses.

free please

Today we had a social free day.
We headed to the local brewery for some free beers..

And headed downtown for a school fundraiser thing for Marshall at some bar.

There was also another "party" at this bar and they had food set up.
And we pretended we were apart of the 5 year high school reunion of '06 and ate their food.

I like social days!

old love

I love getting mail. I love getting mail in Philadelphia. And I love getting mail with my new name on it.

This week our incredible photographer who I'm obsessed with sent me the image disk from the wedding full of TONS of pics that I hadn't seen before.

So right now I just want to share with you 2 of my favorite people in this world. And 2 pictures of them that describe who they are perfectly.

so in love.

and
so fun.

Grandparents are soo special. If you can, call yours and tell them you love them.

roll back prices

We only have one grocery store within our realistic walking distance... Thriftway. This particular grocery store is NOT thrifty. The title couldn't be further from the truth. It's the ghetto version of Whole Foods, minus the selection, i.e. they only have one kind of mustard.

Because we are married and broke we refuse to contribute what little money we have to the Theftway. We are forced to get in our car (how dare we drive in the city) and head miles away to anything that resembles a supermarket chain.

There is a Wal-Mart (I wish Target) within 15 minutes of us.... now this is not your average Wal-Mart, and it's for sure not your supercenter shopping. But their prices are Wal-Mart prices, something you can always feel at home with.

We were wondering around trying to find hangers when all of a sudden we spotted these jewels.
BBQs in the middle of the aisle.
In the middle of the TOY aisle!

And the excercise aisles.
And many other aisles along the store.

I love this. And for this reason (and their cheap Wal-Mart prices) I will return. I have to see what inventive thing they do next in their store.

Who would have ever thought I would be so excited to see a Wal-Mart.

kisses.

Daddy's Day

Happy Father's Day Papa Chop Chop!!!

I seriously believe that my dad is the coolest. All you people can say yours is cooler, but really, you know mine rocks.
It's okay. Not everyone can have the cool dad.
I wish I could be there to take a ride on Sally, and Chop Suey, and whatever you will name your airplane! Thank you for everything you do for me. You are the best!

I love you and miss you lots!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. And a shout out to my NEW father-in-law! I'm so blessed to be apart of your family!

kisses

down by the bay

We don't have cable, but we do get the local news stations. And they keep talking about "the shore". Everyone talks about "the shore". We wanted to feel apart so today we went on an adventure to the shore.
Apparently it's the Jersey shore, but not THE Jersey shore.

We found ourselves heading to Ocean City, NJ.
I had no clue this was an hour from Philly.
I could get used to this.
The beaches aren't Punta Cana, but they will do for this Oklahoma girl.

Cheesesteaks AND the shore....
come on people. Book those flights!

kisses.

cheese please

I realized I hadn't had a cheesesteak since I have lived here... a whole 3 weeks.
So that is what we did today.
Come visit us and have yourself your very own Philly cheesesteak.
But apparently here they just call them "cheesesteaks".
A little knowledge for you.

kisses.

baby P.

I interrupt all this fun I'm having here in Philly to bring you the latest news on baby Pryce which we last saw here.

They received new photos, the 2nd set since April, of him this week and I am even more obsessed now!
They were able to send over a small envelope size package and this toy was in that package... how cute is he with that thing!?

Head over to their blog to see more pictures of this adorable little boy.

I promise you won't be disappointed.

And continue to keep them in your prayers....keep all the families that are in the adoption process in your prayers. It is a tough tough process.

kisses.

will you be my friend?

Thanks for sticking with me through the 100's of honeymoon posts!

We are back in Philly, Marshall is back to school and studying, and I'm just trying to figure out how to be a wife! If anyone wants to give me easy recipes that work for you I wouldn't hate it, I do however hate cooking :)

I realized we hadn't taken any pictures since we got back. So we snapped this one on our walk home from a church BBQ.
We are trying this church in our neighborhood and walking in to it was the first time that I actually felt like I belonged here.
I'm searching for friends. Every time we walk down the street I check out the girls (no les) and ask Marshall if he thinks they want to be my friend. It feels like the first day of high school and trying to find a group that will take you.

Until I find someone to hang out with I'll continue to bug Marshall while he is trying to study!

kisses.

heading home

We had to be at the airport a crazy 3 hours before our flight. The travel agency's idea, not ours. So we didn't have much time before heading out.
But enough time to finally take a picture with my dad's look alike truck! He would fit in here perfectly!

We left the resort and made it to the airport.
Good bye Punta Cana, you have been so good to us! We'll see you next honeymoon!

kisses.

day 6

This day was our last full day in Punta.
So we walked into town to do some barter shopping.
I love local crap.
Especially when they have photos of famous people in them!

We spotted a Century 21 and couldn't resist.
Why can't we afford this?

After taking all the Dominicans money we headed back to the resort for some food and beach time.
This picture doesn't do it justice, but the hot dog bun was the size of the entire plate.

We didn't want to leave the beach.
Why is it that the tropics are so romantical!?
We should all move there and be beach bums.

kisses.

day 5

This day we got our beach aerobics on.
The instructor is hilarious and the moves are out of the this world.
I have a couple of good videos I'll try and post.

After the beach we usually headed to the pool.
Here we are also able to people watch...
Like this Russian man taking photos of his lady. You should have seen their poses, it puts the Chinese poses to shame!
Tonight we had late dinner reservations for the Japanese restaurant but we were so hungry so we had dinner #1 at the buffet and then killed some time.
Go Fish.
I win.

kisses.
