Boz and her baby!

I got to babysit sweet, precious baby Haven this afternoon.
Boz actually trusted me with her 3 month old tiny human being!

There were multiple grown moms around to help. Don't worry.

Thanks Boz for helping us to smile for a few hours!

KARA AND PETER= CELEBRITIES

Today was a special day. You all know my friend Kara, we taught together in China, she married the coolest Korean guy, Peter. Welllll they are going back to China on Monday and we haven't seen each other in a YEAR. Since their wedding to be exact!

It was time to change that.

They drove to Stillwater (from Broken Arrow).

We had lunch with my bro and sis-in-law.
He picked Peter's brain about all things Korean.

And we took lots of pictures.

I have missed that Kara. She loves pictures the way I love pictures.

We stopped at Stillwater Screenprinting so Peter could help translate a video of my future nephew Pryce from his foster mother.
Translation: Baby is not shy, but can not stand yet.

Then we drove around campus and I tried to make Stillwater seem exciting.
Oh goodness was it great seeing them! I've missed them lots!

And not to mention I love her color right now.
I knew right away it was an Essie color!

Until next time KP, let's meet in China or Korea!

kisses.

my hubby is back in America!

Marshall has arrived. He has been in El Salvador doing the Lord's work.
But now, he is in Oklahoma for a few days to hang with the family and hold Gram's hand.

Watching these 2 play warms my heart.

Until Uncle Marshall put eye drops in Jett's eyes and he screams... then I just laugh. I hate eye drops too. He is so much like his aunt.

It feels good to have my husband with me.

He leaves in a few days. I'm already missing him.

a video to make you smile

I haven't blogged in a few days because there isn't a lot to blog about. There aren't that many great fun family pictures happening. We don't leave the house much. We just sit in Grammies room, holding her hand, trying to talk to her, trying to make her smile.

I found this video and it made me smile. Maybe I should go show it to my Gram.

It is about a floating village in Thailand and the kids who started their football team. It is inspirational, it is beautiful, and it worth the 5 minutes out of your day. At least, I thought so.

Enjoy.

And say a little pray for my gram AND papa today.

p.s. Marshall gets here tomorrow!!

kisses.

It felt good to get out of the house and see friends.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KORI!

what's a couple extra pounds?

Since I have been back in Oklahoma, I have gained 4 pounds (and counting).

Everyday the doorbell rings and there is a new giant pile of food for our family. We are beyond thankful for the kindness and compassion of friends during this time. God has showed us so much love. I do not know how people do this without him.

My mom keeps reminding me that I won't get to eat like this when I'm back in Philly... good point mom, good point.
I should get back to the kitchen and the homemade bread... I haven't had a slice in.. oh... 19 minutes.

kisses.

The opening of Dottie Adele by Valerie K. Bryant

Everyone here knows who my great friend Valerie is. We lived together in college, she was there when Marshall and I got in engaged, and she not only was in our wedding, she made all bridesmaid dresses.
Remember the talent? Unreal.

I am so happy and proud to announce that this crazy gifted friend of mine has opened her own Etsy shop and is now selling some of her creations.
Check our her shop HERE!!!! She has a great story about where the name of her clothes baby came from, so read that too. And then buy some clothes!!

AND, you have a few hours left to enter her 1st Dottie Adele Giveaway! Head to her blog and enter the contest. Who doesn't love winning? I know I do!

Congrats Val on your opening! So excited for this adventure!

61 years

Today the grandparents celebrate their 61st year of marital bliss.

I shared here a little bit about my gram's cancer and what she is going through. I could write a whole lot about how much they have influenced my life and how special these 2 are, but honestly, you people know my feelings, and I would just end up blubbering through the whole post. So I will leave you with Gram and Pops last year on their anniversary.
Wow. It's crazy how much can change in year.

Happy Anniversary Gram and Pops!! You are my favorites!

pool day

While we had both of the brothers here we decided to take a break from the house and enjoy some sun and swim.

We had races, and competitions, just like when we were kids.
It was a great distraction.

Tomorrow (Monday) is the grandparents 61st wedding anniversary! 61 years! And I'm pretty sure they love each other more now than they did back then.

p.s. I'm missing my boo. I'l see him in a few weeks!

kisses.

back to stilly

After picking up my brother Eric from the airport we headed to Stillwater.
With Grammie not too far behind.

It felt good to get home.
His Uncle Marshall would be so proud of him and his ability to tolerate the eye drops (he has an allergy).

Baby Jett makes everyone smile and laugh.

And then my brother REALLY makes everyone laugh. He's ready to help out with feeding his baby girl!

I've missed family.

break for friends

I took a break from the hospital to spend some time with a few girls I never get to see!
And find out about all the fun wedding details of the newly engaged Ashley Buxton.
It reallllllly made me miss my sweet friends.
I'm glad I'm home for a few weeks... even if it is for poopy reasons.

We are heading home to Stillwater tomorrow. Hospice has everything set up at my parents house for Gram. Continue to pray for everyone, especially Gram AND Papa. He is having a difficult time with this, as we all are. But knowing your wife is sick and there isn't anything you, or doctors, or anyone can do has got to be rough. I know it's hard for me, I can't imagine the pain my mom and her siblings, and my pops are feeling.

God has interesting plans. And He is always surprising us.

life isn't fair sometimes

I have known my whole life how much my grandparents love each other. They are always kissing, talking about dirty things in front of us, lifting each other up, being incredible examples of a godly marriage, and always always laughing together.

The last 24 hours I have felt their love like never before.

I've been so blessed to witness this type of passion.

And as I sit in this hotel/hospital room writing this my papa is snoring in the bed next to me, and my sweet gram is on another floor in a hospital room sleeping in a hospital bed. And it doesn't seem right and it sure as heck doesn't seem fair.

But no one ever said life is fair.

exhausted

After many bumped flights, and sweet friends (cathy and kary kiner) driving me from OKC to Tulsa. I made it.

Hello Oklahoma. I have missed you so.
My aunts are here, my uncle is here, and in a few days both of my brothers will be here. Such sucky circumstances to have a family reunion. But I am thankful for family and friends.

And I am thankful for airplanes, even though at times they suck also, they help people travel fast to loved ones.

it's gonna be a long flight home

Well.
Looks like I'm coming home sooner than expected.

I'll be home tomorrow.
I'm excited to go home. But I wish it wasn't under these circumstances.

Gram- I want to hear all your dirty sex secrets, so have them ready for when I get there.

kisses.
