off to San Diego

Thank you to everyone for your sweet thoughts for Marshall this week. You all are so good to us.

He finished his test yesterday! Hooray!
And here he is celebrating immediately after.

He has a few days before he has to be back at work, so we are hitting the coast with out a true plan. Not having a schedule is very difficult for me.

We are driving to San Diego today, go ahead. Say it... a whale's vagina.
(If you didn't understand that statement, go watch Anchorman right now and punch yourself for not knowing it!)

I'll see ya in a few days.

kisses,

babies... are little.

I saw this video on a friend's Facebook page a month ago and can't get over it.
It's cute, sweet, and funny.
But also makes me a little sad.
And the little girl sounds like Marcel the Shell. So that's awesome. I want to be her friend.

Enjoy. And be amazed.

kisses.

smarty pants

Dear sweet, hot, husband Marshall-
Tomorrow and Wednesday you take your optometry board exam.
You have been studying for weeks and weeks.
You have taken practice quizzes, read books, listened to lectures, reviewed 3 years worth of notes, read more books.
 And tomorrow, you will dominate.
I know you will.
Because you are Marshall. And you dominate at life.
And you are prepared.
And you have a team of people praying and supporting you.
And you are Marshall.
I'm so proud of you, and so honored to be your wife.

Make it happen Cap'n.

kisses.

we get to be zombies!

Ever since I started watching The Walking Dead, I thought it would be awesome to be able to be a zombie (walker) on the show. And if you have never seen the show, you probably think I'm crazy, but it looks so fun to walk around dragging your foot making the zombie sounds. But, since I have no ties to famous people that probably isn't going to happen. So my dreams of becoming a real life walker seem to be slipping from my hands....

You know how I posted here about the Zombie 5k in Denver. Well, I didn't actually read the website because if I did I would have read that you can BE A ZOMBIE. Marshall read the website and figured this magical information out.

It cost $25 to make your dreams a reality.

So, we signed up to be zombies, July 14th in Denver. If you happen to be in the area and would like to join us, please do. (We have a group started, we are called "Walkers"....) Also, if you aren't going to be in the area, but want to fulfill your dreams of being a zombie (and watch mine come true too) please join us.

Here are a few perks about being a zombie.
- Professional zombie make up.... how can someone resist that?
- A free t-shirt... you know I don't actually pay for t-shirts.
- BEER... enough said on that.
- You get to run the race for FREE. The race  is about $75... I don't think I'll run, because who am I kidding, I don't run, but I have the option.
-And tons of other free zombie perks!

They say that wardrobe is provided but you are welcome to bring your own zombie costume, bride zombie, clown zombie, Downton Abbey zombie, whatever you want. And there are prizes for best zombie costume. The type of zombie we are signed up to be, just stumble around all zombie like, trying to take the runners flags (it's like flag football, runner gets more than one flag, and when the zombie's take all your flags, you die). There are rules, no tackling, biting, hitting, or eating the runners. Seems doable. And seems awesome.
So friends near and far... the invitation is out there.
You just have to accept.
But hurry, zombie slots are filling up!

p.s. Theta friends, we can not have a reunion this weekend.

kisses.

airport blues.

I made it to Phoenix.
Barely.

This is how my morning went down.

4:30 am- alarm went off for my 8:20 am flight.
5:30 am- say bye to my mom,  my dad and I leave Stillwater for Tulsa (this is when I wish the airport was closer)
6:45 am- hugs and kisses to my dad, I go to check in. +side note, thanks again dad for waking up so early and driving!

Flying standby they give you a security pass to get through security and at the gate they give you a boarding pass. You can print that ahead of time, but of course I forgot. So I must stand in line. I didn't check a bag, but the Tulsa aiport does not have the option for the kiosks without standing in line. Whatevs,

6:55 am- Still in the Southwest line.
7:00 am- head up to security.

*For anyone who has ever flown out of the OKC or Tulsa airport you know it, on average, takes about 14 minutes from check in to security. Apparently, except during spring break.
I have never seen the security line as long as it was, in ANY airport. It was wrapped down both hall ways. People in line around me had flights at 7:25 that they were calling to board and TSA wouldn't let them cut in front of anyone. I would have taken a picture because it was unreal, but I was freaking out I wasn't going to get through.

7:25 am- still in security
7:30 am- cursing the spring breakers
7:35 am- my friends in line finally were able to cut and make their flight (even though they had been announcing last boarding call for 15 minutes)
7:45 am- FINALLY make it through, only to have my bag searched.
7:46 am- make it to the gate (because there are only 3)

Tulsa International Airport TSA, get your shiz together. It's spring break. Be prepared.

I didn't have a boarding pass yet, and after talking to the agents, it didn't look like I was going to get one. So I waited, and listened to the agents say over the speaker "This is a full flight, all seats will be taken", and I  waited until everyone else boarded the flight. And then, the Christmas miracle happened. And the sweet little lady said "go, get on, get to your husband!"

So I run on the plane, carry on luggage dragging behind. I board the plane, everyone gives me the stink eye because I'm last on and holding it up, a very large manly looking passenger woman helped me with my bag, and the only seat left was between a crazy woman, and a lady with a baby.
I ended up with baby food all over me, my book full of baby spit, and knowing way too much personal information about the old lady.

But I made it. God was so good to me today. I really did not think it was going to happen. It could have been way worse, I was really blessed today and not trying to complain... But those spring breakers are crampin' my flying style, not making it easy on me!

After landing in Phoenix at 9:05 am (I love time changes, it's as if I never left) I made Marshall take me to eat Mexican food.
That's a big 'ole breakfast burrito.
Disregard the weird hair thing going on, I woke up really early. And my strange looking hands.

Now, I must go to bed, even though it is 8:00 pm in AZ, it's really 10:00 pm in OK.

p.s. My Aunt Nancy is trying to fly back to Phoenix this weekend, please pray she makes it on a flight, she has to be back by Monday!

kisses.

week recap.

From the looks of my pictures from my few days home, it looks like all I did was play with Jett.

But that's not all.
I ate, I worked, I shopped, I slumber partied with Patsy (Paige, Betsy, whatever you want to call her).
But for some reason, all I have pictures of is playtime with Jett.

My brother got him this bouncy house for his birthday and I hadn't seen it in action.
It's awesome.
But you get suckered into bouncing with him because you can't say no when a tiny human is saying your name over and over and asking you to bounce.
This is what he looks like when you stop bouncing. Just kidding. This is what he looks like sometimes on his landings.

My roomie, my Aunt Nancy, flew in to hang out with my mom and my Papa.
Not to hang out with me. We hang out all the time in AZ.

Kay Kay got in the bouncy house.

Mia got in the bouncy house.
See, you can't say no.

This kid is obsessed with his Mia.

And when his daddy gets home from work, no one else matters!

And this happened.
Remember I am this kid's aunt.
I am filing these away in my "embarrass my nephews/nieces file"

I was trying really hard not to stick my butt in his face....
But I did.

***********************************

I head back to PHX (airport code for Phoenix, I feel like all I ever do is check flights) early tomorrow morning.
I'm flying standby so prayers I get a seat!

Excited to see that studying husband of mine!

kisses.

zombie 5k

Besides my husband and Valerie I am not sure I know anyone that is really into zombies.

I wasn't.
Until I started watching The Walking Dead last year.
Now, I'm into zombies. But on the show, they call them 'walkers' and that's just more fun for us.

So how excited do you think I got when I saw this zombie 5k race. Besides the fact that it is a physical event, it looks awesome. Zombies, or walkers for those TWD fans, chase you in fields and rivers as you try to avoid being eaten and cross the finish line.

It's in daylight, so it's not scary.

And what do you know, there is one in Denver in July.....
Hannah, who lives in Denver, likes to run with gorillas, why not add zombies to your list of running buddies?

kisses.
