With the help of an entire crew of family and friends....

We got married.

And. It. Was. Awesome.

We are in Philly now, about to leave for our mystery destination honeymoon. So I will be MIA again. But this time, at least everyone knows what I'm doing... it :)

2 days away!

Today we got a pretty awesome package all the way from China and this girl

She always knows the best gifts.

These awesome "king" and "queen" heart shaped coffee mugs. And traditional Chinese wedding slippers for the future little ones.

Thank you Kara! We wish you and Peter were there but this is the next best thing!

This morning Marshall came back to Stillwater so we went down to the court house!

Marriage license time!

Some were not as excited as others...!!

We signed our names...

And shook hands.

We're one step closer to it being official.

And then later that day the sky got dark and creepy.

So what else do we do?

We play outside.

And watch the storm come in.

And then we had 19 people stuffed into the storm shelter. We told the little girls we were camping and they were loving it.

No electricity + 19 people in a tiny space = sweaty

The family has started to arrive!

My cousin Leah, her husband Justin, their 3 sweet little kids, and their friend made the drive from Alabama to hang out early!

The house is crazy but that's perfectly fine with me.

Technology RULES!

My dear friend Tim, who I taught with in China, has had a lot going on the past few months. He has been planning his wedding to his Chinese fiancé Michelle in China!!! Think planning a wedding in America is stressful, imagine planning one in another country... in another language!

Tim, who is extremely technologically savvy, set up this live video stream of his wedding for his friends and fam who couldn't make the journey all the way to China. It started at 10:00 pm central Oklahoma time, 11:00 am China time.

It was awesome and so much fun.. especially because I could watch with my retainers on.

I chatted my other American teachers Jessica, Justin, and Kylie and we took many trips down our China lane. It was just so incredible to watch this marriage ceremony take place.

I am so excited for their lives together and can't wait to see pictures and hear all about the details! Pray Michelle gets her visa all figured out.. Tim is coming back to MD soon, and Michelle will join him when she can.

p.s. Marshall is in Tulsa and I'm in Stillwater. We are separated again, but this time it isn't as sad. It's exciting!

Today, we went to the flower grower (the biggest in Oklahoma... we have a connection!) to pick out the flowers for the reception.

Flat Stanley

One of the many awesome things about my time spent in China were the relationships that were formed with the other Americans. We were fortunate to have newlyweds on our team. Spending an entire year very closely to newlyweds was anything but boring!

Jessica and Justin (click there to see Justin's Chinese birthday) live, work, and go to school in North Carolina so the likely hood of them being able to come out for the wedding was slim.

But today, I received a letter. With 2 tiny little cardboard Royal cut outs with 2 beautiful faces glued on.

They have requested to make an appearance at our Royal wedding.

And don't worry. She apologized for wearing white to the wedding :)

I'm sorry I didn't make you a fancy homemade meal, but the restaurant take out did a fine job. Probably a better job than I would have done.

Weddings overtake Birthdays.

Last year for my 24th birthday I was being surprised by my Chinese family and all my students with a party and being given awesome presents, eating delicious Chinese food, and hanging in our favorite coffee shop.

This year for my 25th birthday we had a giant wedding craft day.

I hate crafting. But having my friends and family there helping made it fun and easy.

A LOT got done!

Although Cathy looks like she was just reading the old books rather than helping...

A lot was accomplished.

I almost feel like I'm ready to get this wedding started... almost.

Also, Karli brought her baby over for some entertainment.

I think there was a love connection...

They both love the mailbox toy and the vacuum.

That's love.

Also, my dad had a big day.

He flew solo for the first time. Congratulations Papa Chop Chop!

I love how different and fun the 2 birthdays were.

I can't wait to see what and where next year will be like.

And a BIG thanks to all that helped with craft day. It couldn't have happened without you!
