61 years

Today the grandparents celebrate their 61st year of marital bliss.

I shared here a little bit about my gram's cancer and what she is going through. I could write a whole lot about how much they have influenced my life and how special these 2 are, but honestly, you people know my feelings, and I would just end up blubbering through the whole post. So I will leave you with Gram and Pops last year on their anniversary.
Wow. It's crazy how much can change in year.

Happy Anniversary Gram and Pops!! You are my favorites!

pool day

While we had both of the brothers here we decided to take a break from the house and enjoy some sun and swim.

We had races, and competitions, just like when we were kids.
It was a great distraction.

Tomorrow (Monday) is the grandparents 61st wedding anniversary! 61 years! And I'm pretty sure they love each other more now than they did back then.

p.s. I'm missing my boo. I'l see him in a few weeks!

back to stilly

After picking up my brother Eric from the airport we headed to Stillwater.
With Grammie not too far behind.

It felt good to get home.
His Uncle Marshall would be so proud of him and his ability to tolerate the eye drops (he has an allergy).

Baby Jett makes everyone smile and laugh.

And then my brother REALLY makes everyone laugh. He's ready to help out with feeding his baby girl!

I've missed family.

break for friends

I took a break from the hospital to spend some time with a few girls I never get to see!
And find out about all the fun wedding details of the newly engaged Ashley Buxton.
It reallllllly made me miss my sweet friends.
I'm glad I'm home for a few weeks... even if it is for poopy reasons.

We are heading home to Stillwater tomorrow. Hospice has everything set up at my parents house for Gram. Continue to pray for everyone, especially Gram AND Papa. He is having a difficult time with this, as we all are. But knowing your wife is sick and there isn't anything you, or doctors, or anyone can do has got to be rough. I know it's hard for me, I can't imagine the pain my mom and her siblings, and my pops are feeling.

God has interesting plans. And He is always surprising us.

life isn't fair sometimes

I have known my whole life how much my grandparents love each other. They are always kissing, talking about dirty things in front of us, lifting each other up, being incredible examples of a godly marriage, and always always laughing together.

The last 24 hours I have felt their love like never before.

I've been so blessed to witness this type of passion.

And as I sit in this hotel/hospital room writing this my papa is snoring in the bed next to me, and my sweet gram is on another floor in a hospital room sleeping in a hospital bed. And it doesn't seem right and it sure as heck doesn't seem fair.

But no one ever said life is fair.

exhausted

After many bumped flights, and sweet friends (cathy and kary kiner) driving me from OKC to Tulsa. I made it.

Hello Oklahoma. I have missed you so.
My aunts are here, my uncle is here, and in a few days both of my brothers will be here. Such sucky circumstances to have a family reunion. But I am thankful for family and friends.

And I am thankful for airplanes, even though at times they suck also, they help people travel fast to loved ones.

it's gonna be a long flight home

Well.
Looks like I'm coming home sooner than expected.

I'll be home tomorrow.
I'm excited to go home. But I wish it wasn't under these circumstances.

Gram- I want to hear all your dirty sex secrets, so have them ready for when I get there.

kisses.
