mr. onions and punt team

Hellooooo football season! This season I'm more excited than previous years. I guess it must have something to do with not being here last year. That's how everything is lately. I am more excited for things, to eat chips and salsa, thunderstorms, wearing my boots. Everything.
We headed down to campus and found my father wheelin and dealin in the parking lot.
Parking cars. Making money.
He wouldn't even let his own daughter park there without paying $8. Whatev.

Anyways.
You want something beautiful. I'll show you something beautiful.
All that wavin' wheat.

I have missed this. And a special thanks to Bailey for letting me have her ticket. Good friends share tickets.

After we (barely) beat Troy it was hot dog workin time.
The Strip was hopin with crazy Cowboy fans. It was hard to concentrate on all the orders.
Especially with friends to visit with.
And smoke from the grill overtaking our lungs.

If only I could have recorded the incredible tales of the drunks for you all... I guess you will just have to come experience it yourself.

kisses.

is summer over now?

I LOVE the fall. But I don't feel like I really had a summer. I came back from China near the end of summer. I missed out on lake weekends, road trips, QT with friends, the hot hot punch you in the face heat, and a tan.

But this weekend made me feel like summer just started.
Can't we have just a little bit longer...

Thank you to these folks who opened up their home to make our weekend memorable.

kisses.

"what kind of rich church camp did you go to?"

Another full day of sun. OOooh. Glorious.

We woke up, ate a huge breakfast and hit the boat.
Megan's grandma wanted to go on the tube... and she wanted us to go with her.
So Cathy and I were the brave souls who climbed aboard with the daredevil. Except she wasn't so much of a daredevil on the tube.
She kept screaming "AHH WHITE WATER"
Still, she is 75 years old. Pretty amazing.

Kary got to drive the boat.

That's love.

After Darlene had enough it was Kary and Megan's turn.
They boarded the tube.

Cathy posed for pictures.

Darlene started the boat....

and....

nothing.

We started drifting to shore.
So Megan jumped overboard to drag us to a dock.
She saved the day. She's our mermaid hero.

Labor day heros. (Notice Cathy's armshelf)

Once we finally got to their place we did this the rest of the day.

Nothing.
Armshelf. Always.

And before we knew it out moms were walking down friendship carry style.
With fooood. Nothing better than food coming out of a friendship basket made by moms!

We did stretches
We did dancing...?
We did reading of Kendra in 1 day....
And We enjoyed being there doing nothing all day long.

It was beautiful.

We made smores to finish out our evening...
With the BIGGEST mallows you will ever see.

Also the messiest I might add.

And then Cathy taught us how to make taffy out of marshmellows...
She apparently learned to make this at church camp....
Megan and I didn't make our own snacks at our church camp....

One more day of our labor-free vaca.

kisses.

"ahh you drive a volvo? we can't eat our chili dogs in such a prestige car"

It's the weekend. Which means drunk college kids are going to be out and wanting a tasty dog before they head to their final destination and pass out.

My girl Cathy wanted a 1st hand experience of the ridiculousness...
So she came to Stilly to help sell some dogs.

Rob, also came to help. His job was the money collector. So really Cathy and I weren't needed.

So we talked to people walking by. And when we saw someone we knew
Like Kate Hubble. We chatted it up.

My dad also whored us out to this couple.
Not the guy on the end. But the blonde and the guy to her right.

They are a couple from Kansas City in town for the game, she is 29, he is 45, and they were drunk. They couldn't get a cab to their hotel. Of course my father offered his daughter and her friend to drive them.

Sure? Why not. They aren't some psycho killer couple or anything. Right? They were just really pretty drunk and hilarious. In the middle of our conversation in the car the lady says "I just want to say I think you both are really pretty. I don't mean to be un-professional or anything..."

Don't worry lady. You aren't... this isn't our job. We aren't a cab company. Although we did make an $8 tip. So maybe Cathy and I have something going for us...

Can't wait for next weekend. I think I need to film some of the conversations we hear from the drunk people. It's a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

kisses.
