Bring it Sandy.

We are preparing for the worst out here in Philadelphia. I'm stocked up on water and wine.

Power or no power. You probably won't hear from me for a couple of days. Marshall's work closed till at least Tuesday so who knows, we may be making a little hurricane baby Sandy.... not really, but you know what I mean....

Be safe fellow hurricaners.

I just can't get enough.

You guys.
I've been MIA because I impulsively decided to fly back to Oklahoma on a whim!
You see, Marshall had to go to Phoenix this week for an eye ball conference and we had an airline ticket that was going to expire, so he said 2 hours before leaving for his flight, "why don't you just fly to Oklahoma for a few days and help your family."
Brilliant. So I packed my bags, flew with him to Phoenix and then surprised my family in Oklahoma.

I have been working hard while I've been here. A lot more useful here than I would be in Philly!

And plus, I love Stillwater, Oklahoma more than any place else.
But I have to get back to Philly before Hurricane Sandy hits and we're stuck inside!

hanging out with presidents and other famous people.

During our D.C. weekend we decided to ride away from the mass amounts of tourists and explore some more of the city. But what we stumbled upon was the best part of our day (besides the bikes)!

We walked into a wax museum and I knew we needed to get a ticket.
I walked up to the ticket counter and our conversation went like this....

Me: How much per ticket?
Young Twenty-Something Male Worker: (I thought he said) $2.22
Me: 2 DOLLARS! YES WE WANT TO GO!
YTSMW: No, $22
Me: Oh, no way. We can't afford that. He's a student (pointing to Marshall).
YTSMW: Well what can you afford?
Me: I can afford $2 or free.
YTSMW: Well........... can you afford $5 a person?
Me: We can afford that.
(I started to hand him a $20)
Me: I'll give you a $20 so we can have change for dinner.
YTSMW: Well if you have to get dinner I'll discount you more.
Me: You are my favorite person. Thank you!

And then we were given change and we entered the museum.

Total we paid for 2 tickets.... $4.77

I'm not sure who this mystery employee is, or if he should even be working there, but I don't care, I love him.

I love a good barter opportunity, and I love posing with the presidents.
Warning: There are a lot of pictures of Marshall and I with famous people.
All the presidents were present, along with other VIPs.

Besides being all historical they had celebrities.
And let's be honest... I would rather see the celebs than the dead presidents that I know nothing about...

They just so happened to have 4 of my least favorite celebrities.
Brad Pitt is automatically on my list because of association.

But they also had my favorites.
Skinny Oprah, young Joan Rivers, and the one and only Al Roker.

The figures were extremely freaky and life like. It was my first wax museum experience and it was just great. If anyone is in the area you need to go visit, but do not pay full price... because apparently the fee is negotiable.

hanging out with America

With only a few weeks left of east coast living, this past weekend we drove to D.C. and spent the weekend visiting the sites and Marshall's aunt!

I hadn't been to D.C. since I was 13 so it was pretty much all new to me!
But I love being a tourist so I was a happy girl!

After walking and walking we finally were smart and hopped on bikes for the rest of the day!
Best idea ever!
My feet were also very happy.

Thanks Aunt Lisa for letting us crash with you!

But what really was such a great part of our trip I will share with you tomorrow!

In recent Kardashian news...

I don't even watch X Factor but I might just for the new hosts!

(via)

Okay actually just for Khloe Kardashian Odom, even though I do love A.C. Slater. But I love all things Kardashian, (and not afraid to admit it) therefor I love her new hosting job.

You go KKO. You Go.

wedding # 2.

I stayed home a few extra days so that I could go to my best friend's mom's wedding reception. She is also my mom's best friend.
Did you follow that?

My friend Megan's mom, Kary (Kary is BFF with my mom too!) had a ceremony with family a few weeks ago, but had a big party this past weekend.
I didn't actually get any pictures of the happy couple... or of my mom and I!
p.s. We didn't all plan to wear the same color dress, we're just awesome and look like honorary bridesmaids.

It was an older crowd so we were the entertainment. There were times when the whole room was just starring at us on the dance floor. And of course my mom and her friends danced the night away with us, but other than that everyone was just watching us.
My mom, Megan, and I booty danced on Cathy's boyfriend. Hope you didn't mind Cathy!

And thanks to the DJ for letting me use his equipment as props.
After so much of the same dancing we had to get creative for entertainment.

The party ended early (ya know, because of the older crowd, ha!) so we hit up the hotel bar to check out all the brides who just got married.
We also went on a "ghost tour" of the hotel (it's haunted) led by a man named Fredrick.

Also Cedric the Entertainer was at the bar.
We tried to hang out with him and his entourage, but all I got from him was a tortilla chip!

It was a great night to a great visit home.
Congrats to Kary and Mike!

kisses.

pumpkin pickin'

I'm back!
I landed in Philly last night and wouldn't let Marshall out of my sight! I'm excited to be back, actually, we move to Miami in a MONTH so I don't have much time left here! And we have a lot on our schedule so no time to rest for me!

I'll post pics from the wedding reception from this past weekend which was the big reason for staying so long in Oklahoma! But for now I will leave you with some pics I never posted.
Bubble wrap popping, computer time, and celebrating Jett's actual birthday with donuts!

My sis-in-law, Teri, goes every year to the pumpkin patch to get the kids a pumpkin so I tagged along.
Oklahoma got hit with a cool front and I couldn't have been happier to have the cool weather!
I promise, we had fun!

p.s. I get to see my brother Eric and his family when they come visit us in Philly this weekend! I'm so pumped, I haven't seen them in SO LONG. His kids are so cute and smart they teach me things all the time, so I'm sure they will be teaching me about the history of our country!

Happy B-Day Jetters and P-Diddy!

I'm sure you guys are wondering when I'm going back to Phila. I'm sure my husband is too!
Marshall and I decided that I should just stay for a few weeks. Between my wedding last weekend, my nephews b-day party this past weekend, and a wedding reception next weekend it made sense.

I don't like missing out. And I have a really good husband who doesn't like me missing out either.

So onto the weekend.
Pryce turned two September 18th and Jett turns three October 6 so it was easier to have a joint family b-day party this past weekend.
We ate BBQ, played outside, opened presents and spent time celebrating these two wild children.

But the best part of any birthday party (besides the gifts) is of course the dessert.
Well for these guys it was more traumatic than exciting.

We gave them their cupcakes with their candles. They didn't seem too impressed. So we lit the candles, and we all started singing.
Jett got embarrassed (there was about 15 people singing to them) and hid under the table. Then Pryce didn't know what was going on with the fire and the singing and his brother under the table, so he started screaming.
And screaming some more and when Jett finally came back up he started picking his nose. And after they finally blew out the candles Jett took that cupcake and gave it one of those "get that corn out of my face" Nacho Libre style smacks. And Pryce thought it was hilarious and started laughing and laughing.

It was awesome.. And when they are older and it's okay for me to tell them all their cute stories from when they were babies I'll show them the video and embarrass them in front of their girlfriends.

kisses.
